The quartet Tango for 3 has been received warmly by both audiences at classical and chamber-music festivals as well as among tango-ethusiast and dancers. Their span between playful tango-arrangements of classics and popular themes, Joners highly original tango-compositions with the most deeply felt passion, as well as Piazzolla and traditional argentine tango makes their sound and communication with the audience quite unique.

Sverre Indris Joner – Piano
Arranger, composer and founder of the quartet. Graduated and specialized in Latin-American music at the University of Oslo and the Cervantes conservatory, Havana, Cuba. Composes and arranges for film, theatre, symphony orchestras etc.
Per Arne Glorvigen – Bandoneon
Graduated from the State academy of music in Oslo as accordeonist, and from L’Ecole Nationale de Musique, Gennevilliers, France as the first Scandinavian bandoneonist. Has also studied bandoneon in Buenos Aires. In Paris he works with such different settings as the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Gidon Kremer, Alban Berg Quartet and several argentinian orchestras.
Odd Hannisdal – Violin
is concertmaster in The Norwegian Opera Orchestra. He also play frequently in orchestras like the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, the National Radio Orchestra, Oslo Filharmonic Orchestra, the contemporary ensemble Cikada and Electrocutango.
Steinar Haugerud – Double bass
Plays in orchestras like the chamber-orchestras Oslo Camerata and Trondheimsolistene, The Arctic Symphony Orchestra, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and other classical ensembles and orchestras in Scandinavia.
He also plays in the group Electrocutango and teaches tango playing-tecnique in the University of Trondheim.
Tango for 3 have been speading joy and passion with their music since 1986. They have toured several times in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, France, Spain, Netherland, Belgium, Finland and in German cities like Berlin, Bremen, Munich, Dresden, Heimbach, Torgau, Bergish-Gladbach, Recklinghausen and Wiesbaden. Tango for 3 also toured in Argentine – Rosario, Cordoba and Buenos Aires.
They have done several successfull tour together with argentine singer Julia Zenko, including Netherland/Belgium appearing in the prestigious “Concertgebouw” again. And the concert-performance of Piazzollas “Maria de Buenos Aires” with librettist Horacio Ferrer himself as narrator had great success on tour in Norway.
Their tangoshow in Oslo – “Tangotanko” with dancers Pablo Inza & Veronika Alvarenga received the best critics possible in the norwegian newspapers.

Tango for 3 received outstanding critics for their project “Symphonic Tango” with Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and the famous tango-dancers Pablo Verón and Victoria Vieyra.

Since then Tango for 3 have done similar symphonic tango-concerts with the orchestras: Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, The Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra (Norway), Gothemburg Symphonic Orchestra, Värmland Sinfonietta, Umea Symphony Orchestra (Sweden), Deutsche KammerPhilharmonie, Bremen, Dresdner Philharmonie and Neuen Philharmonie Westfalen (Germany), Junge Philharmonie Salzburg (Austria) and BBC Symphony Orchestra (England).
Per Arne Glorvigen has a soloist career and has been touring and recording with the famous violin player Gidon Kremer on his tangoproject and with the Alban Berg Quartet from Vienna.

Sverre Indris Joner has as a composer developed the tango further in many directions; his Concert Grosso for orchestra and quartet, theatre and ballett-music and electronic tango acclaimed by tango-dancers worldwide as well as in Buenos Aires with Electrocutango are good examples.
